      Thank you Eran,
This is wonderful. I am currently taking a Biblical Hebrew course through Hebrew University but need audio tracks so I memorize the words correctly. Which Sephardic audio do you recommend to go along with your Word A Day? Toda Raba, Ilana

        Ilana,
I am glad the word a day is helping you.
I can suggest two options for you to help you memorize the words correctly.
        1. In our paid version you can hear me or another teacher go over each word using the Sephardic pronunciation. To read more about it go to http://eranshorr.com/jewish-prayer-in-hebrew/
        2. A more aggressive approach is for you to work online with us. To decide if it works for you I suggest we schedule a free one hour session online. This way we can tailor the lessons to your needs. Please email me at shorr@shorre.com and suggest times we can meet, and please make sure I know which time zone you are at.

I was asked by one of the subscribers “what does the word אֱמֶת (ehmet) – truth mean?
In the blessing after the Shema, Jews say “I, Hashem, am your God…” The Chazzan (cantor) repeats “Hashem, your God…”
One possible thought is that truth is defined in two ways, God as truth, and your God as relative truth.” As humans we have both.
    Your comments are welcomed.

Wonderful!! Actually, because of this new technique, I learned something. I always thought that ‘בִּמְרומָיו’ somehow meant “speedily”. I guess I was confusing it with “bimhayro” (like in the song ‘Adir Hu’). But you forced me to think about it, and I realized that the root is ‘מרום’ and that means ‘heaven’.

    So, thank you!!

Thank you for easy and useful course. If you can send me a word a day from modern Hebrew, My dream will come true faster. Thank you and Ashem will bless you.

    • Eran Shorr May 15, 2012 at 11:35 am

      Shulamit,
Most of the Hebrew in the siddur are the same Hebrew words that are being used in Modern Hebrew, and I try to point out when they differ.
